The Thing With Two Heads (1972)

“They transplanted a WHITE BIGOT’S HEAD onto a SOUL BROTHER’S BODY!” Wealthy racist “Dr. Maxwell Kirshner” (Ray Milland) has his head transplanted onto the 350-pound body of death row inmate “Jack Moss” (former football star and future evangelist Rosey Grier)! Watch the two heads bicker incessantly, ride a motorcycle, punch each other in the face, etc. Milland’s Kirshner makes “Archie Bunker” seem like a bleeding-heart liberal in comparison. Meanwhile, Grier’s Moss is a falsely accused death row inmate seeking to prove his innocence. The soundtrack includes the classic “Take My Hand” sung by Sammy Davis Jr. A total piece of shit directed by Lee Frost that’s worth a few laughs, The Thing With Two Heads ranks right up there with the likes of The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant (1971) in the “guilty pleasure” aisle. Favorite line: “If you cut off my head, that’ll be murder!” That’s legendary make-up artist Rick Baker in the two-headed gorilla costume taking part in Kirshner’s secret experiment at the beginning of the flick.
