Joan Rivers made the first of her many appearances on The Tonight show Starring Johnny Carson in 1965. Carson established Rivers as his regular guest host in the early 1980s. In 1986, Rivers briefly hosted her own late-night talk show, That Late Show Starring Joan Rivers on the FOX Network.
