WRESTLEMANIA XXIV RESULTS

Wrestlemania XXIV Press Pass

24-man Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal (Dark match)
Stars from all three brands were pitted against one another to determine who would challenge Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Championship. Deuce and Domino had the distinction of being the first two wrestlers to be eliminated. Mark Henry teamed with Snitski against Kane but soon turned on him. Winner: Kane

Belfast Brawl
Belfast Brawl
Fit Finley (w/Hornswaggle) charged the ring and assaulted JBL. The tide quickly turned and JBL used an assortment of trash can lids, baking sheets and the ring stairs to pummel Finlay. Finlay made a comeback, but a diving through the ropes ended with a trash can lid to the head and a Clothesline from Hell. Winner: JBL

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Carlito, Chris Jericho (Y2J), CM Punk, John Morrison, Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP), Mr. Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin took to the skies to acquire the briefcase that would allow them to challenge any champion at any time. There were many amazing highlights: Morrison does a Moonsault with a ladder in hand; Benjamin taking an insane bump from the ladder to another ladder outside the ring; The Walls of Jericho and a Twist of Fate from the top of the ladder. CM Punk and Y2J battle high above the ring until Y2J gets caught in ladder. Winner: CM Punk

Smackdown vs. RAW
Batista and Umaga faced off to determine which brand was supreme. Umaga gained an early advantage after the initial brawl. Batista battled back and landed a Batista Bomb on Umaga. Winner: Batista

ECW Championship
Kane enters ring. Kane choke-slams Chavo Guerrero. Kane becomes ECW Champion. This was arguably one of the shortest wrestling matches in WrestleMania history. Winner: Kane

Career Threatening Match

Cameras flashes exploded across the night sky as Ric Flair "styled and profiled" down the ramp to face Shawn Michaels. Flair and Michaels put on an old-school exhibition of chain-wrestling before Michaels missed a Moonsault and landed hard on the announcer's table. Flair took the advantage and showcased many of the moves that made him famous: the Figure-Four leglock, a standing vertical suplex, a chop block, a thumb to the eye and his "Trick Knee". Michaels fought back but was hesitant to finish the match. With the words "I'm sorry. I love you", the career of one of wrestling's greatest performers came to an end as Sweet Chin Music hit its mark. Flair consoled his family and his multitude of fans before he "walked that aisle" for the last time. Winner: Shawn Michaels

Playboy "BunnyMania" (Lumberjill Match)
Snoop Dogg traveled to the ring in a "pimped-out" golf cart as the Lumberjills (WWE Divas) followed behind. Snoop Dogg took a seat in his throne outside the ring as the match started. The match went back and forth until Beth Phoenix applied a Fisherman suplex to Maria. Snoop Dogg saved Maria by delivering a clothesline to a gloating Santino Marella. Winner: Beth Phoenix and Melina

WWE Championship (Triple Threat Match)
John Cena sought the title he never lost; Triple H looked to regain his throne; Randy Orton wanted to continue his reign. Orton gained an early advantage with a Double DDT on Cena and Triple H, but could not secure a pin on either opponent. Triple H nailed Cena with a Pedigree but took a kick to head from Orton. Winner: Randy Orton

Special Attraction (David vs Goliath Match)

The greatest fighter in the world faced the largest athlete in the world. Mayweather danced around The Big Show and landed a few nice jabs. The Big Show overpowered "Money", applying a Sidewalk Slam on the boxer. Mayweather's handlers tried to remove him from the arena after an extended beating from The Big Show. Show cleared the posse and brought Mayweather back to the ring. Mayweather stunned Show with several chairshots to the head. He equipped a set of brass knuckles and delivered a knock out blow to the Big Show. Winner: Floyd Mayweather

World Heavyweight Championship
Druids with torches heralded the arrival of the Undertaker as his undefeated streak at WrestleMania was on the line against the Rated R Superstar. Edge used a belly-to-back suplex to dump Undertaker into the 1st row of fans as he attempted to weaken "The Phenom". After several failed pin attempts, Edge hit Undertaker with a camera from ringside. As Edge went for the pin, Undertaker applied a submission hold. Winner: Undertaker

"THE BIGGEST WRESTLEMANIA UNDER THE SUN!"
A true pop culture extravaganza, WrestleMania XXIV descended upon the Florida Citrus Bowl on March 30, 2008 - shattering many records along the way! For example, World Wrestling Entertainment® (WWE) grossed more than $5.85 million in ticket sales, making it the highest grossing live event in WWE history and in the history of the Citrus Bowl. WWE also set an attendance record for the Citrus Bowl with 74,635 fans from all 50 states, five Canadian provinces and 21 countries around the world.

Celebrity appearances at WrestleMania XXIV included five-time Grammy winner and multi-platinum singer/songwriter John Legend performing "America the Beautiful," Kim Kardashian of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" as celebrity hostess, Snoop Dogg as master of ceremonies for BunnyMania featuring Playboy cover girls Ashley and Maria, and actress/musician Raven-Symone, who announced WWE's largest wish-granting event ever as she accompanied more than 50 Make-A-Wish children at WrestleMania XXIV.

WrestleMania XXIV also featured highlights from the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which took place the night before at the Amway Arena in downtown Orlando. Hall of Fame inductees included "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Gordon Solie ("The Dean of Wrestling Announcers"), Eddie Graham, Gerald Brisco, Jack Brisco, Mae Young, "Soulman" Rocky Johnson and High Chief Peter Maivia.

I am glad to see that Ric Flare finally decided to retire from wrestling. I sure would hate to see him get hurt. He can now retire and do the things he wants to do with his wife and family. He was a very good wrestler and did it for a long time but sometimes you just have to say "I've had enough". I do hope that he will be back as a manager or doing something behind the sences.
